Say what?! It’s only been a year since Fokofpolisiekar released their award-winning full length album, Selfmedikasie, and they are back with a new banging 5-track EP?

But wait there’s more… as from today a new Limited Edition Fokof Lager Box is on sale.

After almost no new music releases in 11 years, Fokofpolisiekar ended 2017 on the highest note by releasing their award winning third full-length album, Selfmedikasie. No one (including the band) expected to hear more new music so soon, but in the Fokofpolisiekar fashion they like to do things differently and sometimes even surprise themselves.

The new 5-track EP, DROOM HOOG, delivers everything you want from Fokofpolisiekar musically, but will pleasantly surprise fans. It’s fresh, yet filled with nostalgic lyrical and musical references to their own and other musical influences.

‘’Before Selfmedikasie we did not write anything together as Fokof for a long time. Getting started on new music was a huge challenge, but once we got into our old/new flow, the music just started coming. I think the creative process, the great response to the new music and the crazy crowdfunding campaign left us excited and wanting to create more. We ended up booking studio time and recording the 5 new DROOM HOOG tracks in August this year. It all happened very fast and we just kept on trusting each other and the process. We are proud of the new songs and I hope that people will enjoy it as much as we do,’’ says Wynand Myburgh

The first release of DROOM HOOG is a limited edition CD that will only be available in the 2018 edition of the Fokof Lager boxes. On 1st November 2018 it will be available on all digital platforms.

The CD version of the DROOM HOOG EP will only be sold in the 2018 Fokof Lager boxes. Limited to 3000 ONLY!

Pandemonium reigned when Fokofpolisiekar first introduced their limited edition Fokof Lager boxes packed with the SelfmedikasieCD and two six packs of their premium lager in 2017. Music and beers fans alike couldn’t get their hands on these boxes fast enough and they were quickly sold out.

The Fokof Lager boxes were in such great demand that the 2018 edition containing new Fokofpolisiekar music had to happen again. This time around a CD version of the new EP, DROOM HOOG, will ONLY be available in the 3000 Limited Edition boxes, making the 2018 Fokof Lager box a must have for any Fokofpolisiekar collector or fan. For the rest, the album can be purchased or streamed on their preferred digital platform from November 1st.

The 2018 Fokof Lager boxes are NOW available for online purchase from Yuppiechef and will roll out to selected stockists by 26thOctober.

DROOM HOOG PHOTO EXHIBITION in Cape Town and at Fokof Bar in Pretoria

The DROOM HOOG exhibition is a series of 22 photographs by Liam Lynch and Jaco S. Venter, documenting the recording of the band's new EP DROOM HOOG, their brief tour in Europe and life on the road and at home in general.

This exhibition is currently on at Redemption Burgers and Bar in Long Street, Cape Town and will move to the Fokof Bar in Pretoria. The opening date for the Pretoria exhibition will be announced soon.
