Dream noise duo, Medicine Boy, have just released the music video for Bottom Of The Blue, the opening track off their new album Lower which is out now on UK-based label, Fuzz Club Records. The video was created by Nirma Madhooand explores the strange underwater world that the band has slowly been excavating.
It is difficult to say exactly what Bottom Of The Blue is about. And feels a little unwise to do so. It wasn’t written with a clear theme or concept in mind. It was one of those songs that became a strange sort of conversation between the two of us. And I suppose in some ways it deals with the temptation and the pitfalls of trying to pin something down.' - Lucy
Nirma is a fashion designer turned photographer and fashion film maker. She has directed and produced short fashion films featured at multiple short film, fashion and digital festivals in London, York, Berlin, Melbourne and South Africa. She art and creative directs projects that have fashion resonance.
Nirma responded to the song intuitively and has allowed the listener / viewer the space to do the same. She has an incredible way of capturing mood and atmosphere - the most important aspect of translating the music visually. The video was filmed in and around the icy Cape Town ocean - something that appears all over the album.
Lucy and Andre have just returned to Berlin after having played Endless Daze Festival in Cape Town last weekend. On Friday they begin their European tour in support of their latest release.
