Jason Oosthuizen is no one trick pony. After his departure from Van Coke Kartel he has reincarnated himself numerous times, being involved with new bands, tribute shows and, in the near future, launching his solo project. He has also released his own signature snare range and is branching into coffee! So what can we expect from the diverse drummer this year at Blood Brothers?

Q:We know you as part of numerous bands and projects, but please take us back to the start. When did the drumming bug bite?

A:My dad is a drummer and from the age of four I started playing. Drumming has always been a thing for me that I simply can't let go.

Q: What does an average drumming practise for you look like and consist of?

A: I unfortunately have not been able to sit down and practice properly in years due to me being more on the business side of things, so the only time I get behind a kit is at rehearsals and shows. Luckily I have a lot of those so I use them as practice too.

Q: You are part of the amazing Blood Brothers band this year - what was your reaction when you found out?

A: It is always a honour to be a part of such a cool event. There is a lot of meaning and reason behind these shows and I'm super happy to have the gig again.

Q:Is there any Blood Brothers musician in particular you are especially excited to be sharing the stage with?

A:Yes for sure. I am super excited to be playing with Laudo and Ard for the first time ever.

Q:What can audiences expect of the show this year? What’s going to be different compared to previous years?

The show is not as heavy rock based as normal, however it has a few elements of heaviness here and there, but people will love the tunes and the lineup is really great this year in my opinion. I can really recommend coming to a show.
