While you count down the days, here is an interview with one of the local brewers you will be able to see at the festival.

Q: First off, tell the readers a bit more about your brewery and the kinds of beers they can expect.

A: Birkenhead is one of the oldest craft breweries in South Africa...brewing since 1998. We have a variety of clean, filtered, crisp, easy drinking, beers that caters for the malty to the hoppy beer drinkers.

Q: What unique experience can beer lovers expect when they visit your taproom?

A:We the only Estate that i'm aware of that do Beer, Cider and Wine on the same estate.

We have a restaurant that is open 7 days a week and fun tasting trays to try all of the above.

Q:You have a popular cider range with some mighty interesting flavours. Which flavours have proven to be a hit amongst the ladies?

A:The passionfruit, Blackcurrant and Cranberry and lime are firm favourites.

Q:What is your secret to success in such a crowded industry?

A:Consistency and quality, nobody forgets a bad experience!

Q:Where else are your brews available to purchase?

A:Our range of beer and ciders are available nation wide at any of the leading retailers, ie Tops at Spar, Pnp Liquors, Liquorcity, etc.

Q:How did you first get into brewing beer?

A:Beer has always been a passion and growing up in Stanford with a brand new brewery at that time was very exiting, who would not want to get paid to do what they love?

Q:Any brews you are keen to try out at the Hermanus Craft Beer Festival?

A:I like a good Weiss and Pilsner, hopeful to find a couple that can match ours!
