A premiere Vodka festival will be taking place on the 25 August 2018 at the Hillcrest Quarry in
Durbanville. Festival attendees will experience a multitude of Vodka tasting stations where they can taste various types of Vodka from well-known and influential brands as well as some local craft brands.
Everyone that arrives between 12h00 and 18h30 will receive 5 free tasting coupons. The tasting stations will close at 19h00 and all drinks for the rest of the night must then be purchased at the bar that will be open throughout the festival.
Get one free Red Bull at VodkaFest if you arrive between 12h00 and 13h00.
The event will kick off at 12h00. Live bands and DJ`s will entertain you throughout the day and into the night: Rock bands from 12h00 to 20h00 and DJ`s will keep you going from 20h00 to 01h00. The bands on the line-up include the Cape Town kings of rock mash-ups, Rockerfellas, as well as Don`t Poke The Bear, The Hills and more. Das Kapital will be bringing some new music to the party: “I've spent the last 8 months really developing my sound as a producer and a DJ, so I'm incredibly excited to debut a load of my new material at Vodka Fest.” Kilospascal, Khord and Kimmy C will also be spinning some tunes to keep the party going.
Vodka is traditionally drunk neat - but vodka- based cocktails will also be served at a specially built 12 meter long ice bar. From classic Martini’s, Cosmopolitans, Bloody Mary’s to the more modern fusion style cocktails. The Ice Bar we will also boast an Ice Luge from which to enjoy an ice-cold shot and to keep you warm, Red Bull has been confirmed as the official energy drink partner.
You might want to plan an alternative ride home so that you can be part of the Russian Roulette Shoot Out. Bring your A game. You win you drink! Last person standing wins an awesome Vodkafest CT Hamper, tasting coupons or the money pool.
Russians love saying toasts, for drinking in silence is frowned upon and thus, there must always be a reason to raise your glasses. The Russians most popular toasts are to friendship, peace in the world and just ‘to us’! After finishing your first shot one shouldn’t immediately reach for food. As far as tradition goes, the first shot is just for warming up. Before you start eating you should have at least another shot!
