The Parlotones and Prime Circle!
Situated in the heart of the Durbanville Wine Valley, Hillcrest Wine Estate’s function and event venue, The Quarry, has been the home to numerous weddings, functions, festivals and concerts over the past years. This hidden gem is situated in the old historic, rehabilitated quarry on the Hillcrest Wine and Olive Estate in Durbanville, Cape Town. The Quarry has a 7000 square meters of rolling lawns and a 15 000 square meter lake with a function venue which can accommodate and cater for a wide selection of events, including the Quarry Summer Concert series.
The Quarry Summer Concerts will host a collection of heavyweight bands and combine them with bands that deserve the exposure. These concerts aim to host bands like Johnny Clegg, Mango Groove and the best of SA's live acts. Make sure you connect with Hillcrest Quarry on all social media platforms to keep connected what is happening. For now Hillcrest Quarry will kick of with these two dates, with much more to be released soon.
9 November – The Parlotones featuring The Black Cat Bones
Quarry Summer Concerts kicks off with South African heavyweight band The Parlotones .Musicians Kahn Morbee (lead vocals and guitar), Paul Hodgson (guitar) Glenn Hodgson (bass and keyboards) and Neil Pauw (drums) have been making music since 2003 when they started playing in various venues that would host them.Nowadays they’re one of South Africa’s biggest-selling bands, with a huge list of accomplishments and awards behind their name.
To open for The Parlotones is The Black Cat Bones who needs no introduction on our local music front. You can expect an intense rollercoaster live performance and hard rocking tunes. This band will take you on the ride of your life. A must see for all.Also hot on the line up is Red Tape Riot & DJ Adrian Gemini.
30 November – Prime Circle
The multi award-winning band, Prime Circle, recently released their 6th studio album, 'Let the night in', which is proving just as succesful as previous releases. Prime Circle proves that after 13 years in the music scene they deserve their firm place in the industry as ever. With a high amount of awards and nominations, Prime Circle shows no signs of slowing down.
Opening bands include Filth, Reburn & DJ Adrian Gemini.
