FOSTER THE PEOPLE TO PLAY RTD 2016

U.S. award winning, indie pop band Foster the People are finally coming to SA to perform at this year’sRocking the Daisies from 6-9 October 2016.

Hailing from LA, Mark Foster founded the band with Mark Pontius in 2009 and brought us chart-topping,dance-infused pop and rock tracks like "Helena Beat", "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)”, "Pumped Up Kicks" and "Coming of Age". Daisies fans have been begging the organisers to bring them out in recent years and now the festival’s giving them just what they want.

International acts also added to this incredible line-up include Dublin-born, Berlin-based techno producer Matador and Bristol native Eats Everything.

In early 2015 Eats Everything delivered a two CD compilation ‘Fries With That’, launching the mix with a very special intimate Boiler Room party from his favourite Fish and Chip shop in Bristol. Recently, he has played sets at Snowbombing, Ultra Music Festival and at Coachella as part of JESuS. Eats Everything will be an absolute must-see on the Beach Bar Saturday line up.

Matador adds weight to the hugely popular Electronic Dome as one of techno’s most notable and credible mavericks.

What would Daisies be without our hot local line-up?

The Baddest, award-winning hip hop icon AKA will make his Daisies debut this year, AKA has won numerous Metro FM, SAMA and Channel O awards and is currently set to perform at the BET experience on June 25th in the U.S where he is nominated in the category Best African Act – for two years in a row now.

Grassy Spark, Jimmy Nevis, DJ Invizable Computa General, Trancemicsoul, Killer Robot, Nakahne Toure, Nasty C, Moonchild Sanelly, Thieve, Red Tape Riot, Diamond Thug, F O L L O W E R, SIMMYSIMMYNA, Cassiem Latief, Kyle Mcclean, Lamagier and Tha Cutt with Lee Harvey Oswald also give Daisies 2016 some love with performances on various stages.

Can you believe that the legendary Mango Groove hasn’t played Daisies yet either?

Experience their electric on-stage performance and magical blend of South African Marabi, Kwela and pop influences, together with the voice and presence of Claire Johnston and the evocative sound of the penny-whistle.
