Doing what they do best:

The Lugsteuring Vinyl and Bose Kringloop Tour

‘’Dis ‘n bose kringloop en onder draai die duiwel rond.’’

(“It’s a vicious cycle and underneath is where the devil roams.”)

‘Sielswartgat’ from Lugsteuring (2004)

FOKOFPOLISIEKAR is known as one of South Africa’s most popular rock bands of the past decade. In 2004, the band released their first full length album, Lugsteuring. Fokofpolisiekar is not known for letting milestones like these go uncelebrated.

“There is a song called ‘Sielswartgat’ on Lugsteuring with these lyrics: ‘Dis ‘n bose kringloop en onder draai die duiwel rond’. (“It’s a vicious cycle and underneath is where the devil roams.”) This stuck with me when I thought of a name for the tour. We started touring eleven years ago and we still do it. It’s a vicious cycle…” Wynand Myburgh, Fokofpolisiekar's bassist.

The guys are taking to the road again to do what they do best… to rally up audiences, to reviveLugsteuring’s raw energy and to channel it to their thousands of fans. Fokofpolisiekar will release a limited edition Lugsteuring vinyl during the Bose Kringloop Tour. Only 500 copies will be up for sale.

“The product will have a classic rock album feel, just like Lugsteuring’s sound. The artwork will resemble the original very closely – classic!” Francois van Coke, Fokofpolisiekar’s frontman.

In 2013, Fokofpolisiekar celebrated the ten year anniversary of their debut EP, As Jy met Vuur Speel sal Jy Brand, by releasing limited edition vinyls. The demand was so high that an extra 200 copies had to be printed. A handful of these vinyls are still available at

Earlier this year, the band released a new single, Paranoia, as a free download from their website. This single was downloaded over 13 000 times. Get it here:

They kick offBose Kringloop Tour at Firkin in Centurion on August, 29th and the cover charge there will only be R20!

Because it is 10 years since Lugsteuring’s release, the band will work some of the old classics, which they haven’t played in years, into the set.

“We are looking to play songs like as Lugsteuring, Die Grootste Gaping and My Lys Verskonings. This is exciting, because Lugsteuring is certainly one of our favourite albums as a band.” Jaco Snakehead Venter, Fokofpolisiekar’s drummer.
