“Kill City Blues are very happy to announce that we'll be hosting the 'Friday Night Live ' series at Aces 'n' Spades as of September. The venue is known for its amazing nights of out with top class DJ's you can get down and boogie with. The venue however felt it was important to bring back a stronger a live music presence to their weekends as well. Kill City was approached to take over the live event side of things as we have an abundance of bands coming through our rehearsal space. What better way to spot the talent? The evenings are also sponsored by Jack Daniels which is very welcome sight and specials will also be running on the evenings,” says George van der Spuy, owner of Kill City Blues and vocalist for Taxi Violence.

Kicking off this series will be Southern Wild and Veladraco on 1st September.

Cape Town has also been in dire need of quality live venues to host events at so the timing couldn't be better for the city. Aces ‘n’ Spades and Kill City Blue’s aim is also to get people to come out earlier to watch bands. The city is renowned for acts that start quite late and they are hoping to change this by starting the bands at 9pm sharp and DJ's taking over from 11pm as per usual.

Happy Hour will also start at 8pm till 10pm so there's even more reason to come early.

Aces ‘n’ Spades is booked up till end of December with bands and they hope that the varied line-ups will tickle some musical taste buds.
